Race Synopsis:David Vandyke-trained filly Baccarat Baby staged an impressive effort in winning here. She began well but was eased from her wide barrier (12) to settled midfield and deep. She improved (wide out) from the 800m to challenge (still deep) at the home turn. She took the lead coming to the 200m and then drew away to win easily despite her difficult trip. It was a performance of a smart filly. The favourite Junipal enjoyed a nice trip being handily placed to the home turn before being held up behind runners at the home turn. He got into the clear at the 200m and then battled on quite well for second. Zavance raced beyond midfield, tracked the winner from the 800m, made the home turn widest of all, challenged at the 200m and then fought on well for third. Shijin raced outside the leader (Statuesquely), briefly got to the front on turning for home and then battled on to take fourth, beaten five lengths.
