Chris Scholtz is a leading Australian thoroughbred racing journalist, race analyst & racing promoter.

From 2001-2013, Chris was racing editor at Racing and Sports. He is now a contributing editor to the organisation, providing an oversight of news & trends in Australian & overseas racing and breeding.

He is also a specialist writer for R&S - and as a highly respected Sydney-based racing analyst - contributes his selections for Sydney race meetings to the R&S website & subscriber newsletter.

Chris's company, Tronta Media, provides media, public relations, sponsorship liaison & promotional services to the racing industry - with NSW country racing a particular focus. Chris's clients include the Clarence River, Wyong, Albury, Goulburn, Taree, Scone & Tamworth race clubs.

As a journalist Chris has worked for many of Australia's premier news & racing publications including 18 years with Sydney's Daily and Sunday Telegraphs. His other media roles have included feature racing columnist for The Sporting Globe & Sportsman national racing papers & racing editor of the Wizard form guide.

Chris has covered every major racing event in Australia, as well as racing in the UK, Ireland, NZ, the Kentucky Derby and Hong Kong Internationals. He has been recognised with the Sydney Turf Club's Sir Clyde Kennedy Golden Slipper Media Award and the Racing NSW Country Media Award.

From 1990 to 2012, Chris was heard daily through racing radio networks presenting race preview, price assessments & selections for all NSW TAB meetings. He continues to provide the racing media with prices for NSW country TAB race meetings.

Chris was born into racing. It was 1956 when his grandfather - a respected Sydney racing journalist - & his bookmaker father, took Chris to his first Melbourne Cup.

He has since seen many of the world's great racing events, $ his passion for racing remains as strong now as it was when he started his newspaper career in 1970.
