A hat trick of wins this time last year followed by another hat trick late last year, Market Ruler returned to winning form and her maiden stakes success with a clear cut win here. She was quickly away to lead briefly then eased back to third but three deep soon after. A length from the pace past the 600m, she stayed in touch around the corner and into the straight, steadied then set after the leader. From the 200m she lengthened stride, ranged alongside then drove clear, having a length and a half up her sleeve at the line. Electric Light sat last in the small field of six at the 600m, was still last at the 200m then rattled home for a good second from Rock Magic who, from fifth and under the steadier of 62kg, kept on strongly for third.
