Having her fifth run back this preparation, Invincibella staged a very good performance under her 60kg top weight to take out this $1m race for the third successive year. She was ridden patiently by Hugh Bowman from a wide barrier and settled back in 13th place before improving (deep) from the 600m. She then continued that run and stormed home over the closing stages to record an impressive victory. Irithea showed her customary pace to lead. She then travelled well and was only overhauled nearing the post, fighting well for (0.8 lengths) second. The winner's stablemate Romani Girl settled back in 11th place, made a wide move on straightening and then ran on really well for third, just in front of Jami Lady who was handily placed most of the way before holding on well for (1.8 lengths) fourth.
