Ipswich: Race 3 @ 1.25pm

Simply Sacred from a good draw can lead at just a moderate tempo. Kiwi raider SIMPLY SACRED (10) made good late ground to grab 2nd last start over 1400m at Te Rapa. Ratings suggest that form will stack up here. The stable is very good at bringing the right horses over and picking up Aussie prizemoney. DIAMOND ACCOUNT (7) made it three placings from as many runs this prep when she found the line strongly to finish 3rd at Rockhampton last start despite racing wide for the 1200m journey. Big step up in trip today but looks up to the task. THE DEMTEL MAN (5) was a shade unlucky when 2nd over 1400m at Beaudesert recently. Very fit after three runs back and is ready to peak, as is STRAWBERRY BLONDE (11). SELECTIONS: #10 Simply Sacred to win for the Kiwis.

Echuca: Race 5 @ 3:15pm

Good speed with Shaquiana, Polished Diamond and Toorak Smock all prominent. ASHTRAIN (1) was a big winner this grade resuming and then was wide and okay in much stronger at Caulfield spiking his figures again. Peaks now and is the one to beat with the handy 2kg claim. POLISHED DIAMOND (8) is fast and just missed first-up and then impressed taking out the Maiden. Draws to advantage with a claim and is a genuine chance. SHAQUIANA (7) has been favourite the last two and missed a nose this grade as favourite the latest. She will clear the gate okay and should go close with the 3kg claimer going on. TOOLBAR (4) uses the rail and won the Maiden by 5.3L. The claim assists and he has to be considered. SELECTIONS: #1 Ashtrain can go on.

Gawler: Race 6 @ 4:00pm (AEST)

Speed across the barriers with Papalet a likely leader. BURNING THE CLOCK (2) missed a nose resuming as a gelding and then won the Maiden at Werribee off a 7L city trial win. Was heavily-backed in that and is the one to beat running along from the low gate. TENNESSEE RAIDER (3) just missed her two runs last campaign in stronger grade. She has the ability, but has been away for 309 days and that’s the question. Clark is booked and knows her well and watch closely for positive betting moves. PAPALET (1) resumes and was a strong Maiden winner two back in town. He will have come on and has to be considered. TASTE OF DIAMONDS (13) is an improver who will be around the mark with a good ride.SELECTIONS: With the promising #2 Burning The Clock.

Devonport Synthetic: Race 8 @ 4:07pm

Kenfromthebar will come over and likely lead. ENZIAN (2) is fast and can stalk. Won this grade and then missed a lip after improving his figures again. Comes to the synthetic and has won three times on the surface. Gets Newitt for the apprentice and is clearly the one they have to beat. Open the rest. GEE GEE SPITFIRE (7) has been knocking on the door and ran favourite the latest on the grass. Rates well but its been a long time since the last win. NEWTS (8) peaks now and hasn’t been having much luck. Gets the rail and McCoull and expect him to be in the finish. BRACCENBY (4) has more to offer and can fill a spot. SELECTIONS: #2 Enzian rates highly and can make the double on the 7 day return.

Albany: Race 4 @ 4.38 pm (AEST)

The Divine Wind will spear over from the outside gate to lead Throttle and Vista View. HE'S A GUNSLINGER (5) found the lead shortly after straightening and looked home only to be collared late over 1400m at Ascot last start. That was his first outing for 46 days so strips a lot fitter this time and back at this level is a clear top pick. REGAL REBELLE (11) started favourite over the mile here last time out but raced too keenly and was easily accounted for in 3rd place. Lightly-raced filly who will learn a lot from that run and back to this trip is certainly in the mix. THE DIVINE WIND (1) has been freshened-up since a respectable 3rd over 1400m at Bunbury a month ago. Still a maiden after 22 runs so not for the feint-hearted. The field falls away drastically after this three, with VISTA VIEW (3) for trifectas and first fours only. SELECTIONS: #5 He's A Gunslinger looks a good thing in a shallow race.
