TAB has opened markets on three of the big Group One races of the 2019 Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.
All in fixed odds betting is now available on the Golden Rose, Epsom Handicap and The Kosciuszko.
Godolphin’s rising three-year-olds Microphone and Tassort head the market for the $1 million Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill on September 21.
"Colts traditionally dominate The Golden Rose and this year looks to be no different,” said TAB’s Gerard Middleton.
“It is impossible to go past this year's Sires' Produce winner and Golden Slipper runner-up Microphone. He heads the betting with the stablemate Tassort who was a one-time favourite for the Golden Slipper before going to the paddock early with an injury.
“Prince Fawaz was impressive winning the JJ Atkins at Eagle Farm last Saturday for Anthony Cummings and will be trying to emulate The Autumn Sun who did the double last year."
The $1 million Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Randwick on October 5 has two rising four-year-old stars at the top of the market.
The star Perth filly Arcadia Queen and the Doncaster Mile winner Brutal are both at $8 and also head the betting for the $7.5 million Golden Eagle (1500m) at Rosehill on November 2.
The $1.3 million Kosciuszko (1200m), the world’s richest race for country-trained horses, is on the Everest undercard at Randwick on October 19.
“This year is shaping up to be a very strong edition of The Kosciuszko,”Middleton said.
“We couldn’t split Victorem and Noble Boy who head the market at $4.50.
They are both proven performers at the top level and both love Randwick. “
Victorem won the Country Championships Final in 2018 while Noble Boy won the same race this year.
“It’s a deep market with plenty of chances and there will no doubt be plenty of betting interest."
