Major metropolitan meetings through Australia are today held at Eagle Farm, Randwick, Flemington, Morphettville and Belmont.

Eagle Farm: Race 5 @ 1:35pm

Not a lot of pace on paper. Perfect Dare could push forward and be prominent. Sweet Deal (14) is a talented Sydney mare who found the line well for a 1.4L fifth in the Group 2 Dane Ripper when resuming. Big drop back in grade to a C6 and hasn't missed a place second up. Three of her four career wins have come at this distance. Weighted to win. The first up Sydney run of SMARTEDGE (11) was better than it appears on paper when he was held up in the straight before working home well. He will be fitter for that and should appreciate the extra 200m. Improver. SOFIE'S GOLD CLASS (13) won here first up then caught the eye charging home at this trip last time. Kept fresh and races well that way. SHOGUN SUN (9) found stakes races too tough at his past couple but has claims at this level after seconds at his previous two. MAGNUFIGHTER (8) was close up when resuming and has won second up before. SELECTIONS: Sweet Deal enjoys a big drop in grade. Weighted to win.

Randwick: Race 7 @ 3:10pm

Another competitive affair with very little separating the main market contenders. Speed should be genuine. Sweet Victory (12) is on the quick back up following another solid performance last start when only narrowly beaten at Rosehill last weekend. Was forced back towards the inside there and her run may have been better than what it first appeared. Set to peak third up and appears well placed with the aid of the claim. Hard to beat. MONSIEUR SISU (5) was very good behind Quackerjack last start and he too should be nearing his top for this. Will relish the conditions, major threat. ISLAND MISSILE (7) is better than his last start suggests and is worth another chance, while THIS IS SO (15) is progressive and has to be included. SELECTIONS: Keen on Sweet Victory on the quick back up.

Flemington: Race 6 @ 2:45pm

Our Bottino can use the low draw and work through with Come On Carl coming across from wide out. Five Kingdom (4) was terrific first up here. Stayed on well in a high pressure race first up and can only be fitter for that. He was really good last campaign, seemingly thriving on racing, and that bodes well off the big return. CONNERY (5) was better than it reads at Swan Hill. Ran on into a bunched finish there. He was winning and improving before that and looks a leading chance. TAN TAT TRUSTING (1) won that Swan Hill Cup and the form line has to be respected. CURRAGH (2) also comes through that bunched finish and has claims along with AMEROCK (7). SELECTIONS: Loved Five Kingdom's return.

Morphettville: Race 6 @ 3:41pm (AEST)

Good pace here. A few will be going forward. Mr Hamilton (2) did win first up in a nice fashion. He will run well but likes to ride the speed so just needs to get into a decent spot. Hard to knock. That said, AKKACAN (4) will be finishing off fast. He goes much better with the sting out and is very well placed after the claim. The pace on helps too. ZARACE (9) will be an improver. He was well fancied last week but weakened out. This is a better trip. WING SNIPPER (5) does go best early in campaigns while VICKI'S BOY (7) has some ability at his best. SELECTIONS: The class of #1 Tolemac to prevail.

Belmont: Race 4 @ 4:09pm (AEST)

Stirling Estate and Captain Stirling will both be forward, Lord Ludlow, Mantime and Chix Pic also have good speed. Battle Storm (13) is three from three and did it easily first-up over this course two weeks ago. No harder for him and he's the one to beat. CHIX PIC (3) disappointed first-up when well supported favourite. Entitled to another chance. CAPTAIN STIRLING (2) is down in class on recent efforts and wasn't disgraced at Listed level last time. In the mix. HOW TO FLY (5) and AMBIENTE (1) are both capable of running well fresh. SELECTIONS: Battle Storm to win, Include 1,2,3,5 in exotics.
