Third run back off a strong finish for third in the Moir Stakes (Gr 1, 1000m), Sunlight returned to her best with an all-the-way win here, the triple Group 1 winner claiming win 11 in 19 starts. Despite a wide draw she began well and quickly found the fence and the lead well before they reached the crossing. Rider Luke Currie nursed her past the 400m then gave her a shake at the 250m to ease clear. Going strongly, she had two lengths to spare at the 100m and even though just a half length to the good at the line was not going to be caught. Santa Ana Lane sat last at the crossing, found a split at the 400m, accelerated quickly to be second at the 100m then went after the winner but too late. A nice run from Zoutori who was widest and third last at the 600m, cruised up to third at the 200m and kept on strongly to the line for third. Vital Silver was second at the 400m and tried hard all the way to the line for fourth.
