Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for major Australian TAB meetings on August 1.
Major metropolitan meetings today are held at Randwick, Moonee Valley, Eagle Farm, Morphettville Parks and Belmont.
RANDWICK: RACE 3 @ 12:55PM
Doesn't appear a lot of depth to this small field with the leading market hopes tipped to fight out the finish. Man Of Peace and You Make Me Smile look to control the tempo. Kordia (7) won very well fresh before he simply got too far back last start when closing off well late behind Inanup. Much better suited stepping up to 1400m and appears very well treated down in the weights. Just needs clear air from the inside draw. NOBLE BOY (1) disappointed last weekend, but is clearly better than that and remains under strong notice on the quick back up. MAN OF PEACE (2) continues to race well and is sure to be in this for a long way with Day sticking aboard (won 2/2). YOU MAKE ME SMILE (6) should be at his top now and appears the next in line. SELECTIONS: Very keen on Kordia - Best Bet Of The Day.

MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 4 @ 2:30PM
Fill The Flute and A Good Yarn are likely to be keen to lead them around here. Propelle (7) has been thereabouts this prep, latest finishing fourth over 1100m at Caulfield just last week. If Brooklyn Hustle isn't ready to fire she's best placed to pick up the pieces. BROOKLYN HUSTLE (4) was last seen finishing fifth over 1200m in the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington. Form like that leaps off the page and she'd shown plenty of talent en route to running there - including a smart win around this course. She's remarkably well placed at this level if she is ready to run anywhere near her best off the long break/setback. Betting may tell us more. LUCIFER'S REWARD (5) scored over this journey two back. Form can be up and down but he is a talent when right. FIGHT (2) was only narrowly beaten second up at Flemington after winning fresh. SELECTIONS: Propelle looks the solid play against the talented favourite.
EAGLE FARM: RACE 8 @ 3:42pm
No clear leader on paper. Sabkhat could be the one to go forward. Mr Bellagio (3) took on stakes class last time and performed well when running on to get within 1.4L of the winner. Has been in terrific form winning his previous three at this distance range. Looks well placed. RED DOULTON (13) has placed at two of three runs this time in and missed by just a head last time. Race fit now and may be ready to deliver. RIGHT OR WRONG (2) hasn't been far away at his past couple including a third in the Listed Spear Chief. That form should stack up well. BARACHIEL (10) is racing consistently in the north and is worth a place in the exotics. SELECTIONS: Mr Bellagio is well placed dropping from stakes company. Backing to win.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 3 @ 2:01PM (AEST)
Really fast race here from multiple sources. Irish Mint (2) has a top record here and is much better suited than when in Melbourne. Was well backed then too so easy to fancy. BRIMARVI VEHERO (4) has been highly competitive of late. He doesn't know how to run a bad one. Gets a soft run all the way so just needs to get out in time. HARD ROCK GIRL (6) resumes off taking on better horses than these are. She may find the fence first so could be the one to run them along. CELTIC BLAST (3) might get last shot at them. He is fitter and loves a softer track. STAR OF MONSOON (7) keeps going around. He can back up strongly. SELECTIONS: Irish Mint at the each way odds.
