Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 18.
Thoroughbred meetings are today are held at Lismore, Nowra, Kilmore, Horsham, Sunshine Coast and Kalgoorlie.
Sunshine Coast: Race 9 @ 5:00pm
Solid tempo as All To Do takes the lead but plenty of pressure hot on his heels. All To Do (1) is the one to beat. Both runs back this time in have been superb, finishing second to two of Vandyke's smarties. Made the hotpot in Able Mabel work to beat him here on resumption before having the coattails of Weona Smartone more recently and never shirking the task. He's peaking now and has the right form to be winning this third-up. STAGE PLAY (12) made ground from the back when runner-up to Kavak here on resumption. Always gives the impression 1200m is ideal given how she finishes her races but whenever she's been tried over it she's failed. Few queries there but she has upside and will benefit from the speed upfront. DEGAS (2) was sent out a winner at the Gold Coast before a break. Caught the eye on that occasion. Given plenty of time and despite the horrible barrier he's in the mix. Does have early speed. NO DOUBT A LADY (10) has a winning strike rate that is hard to be enthused about but the inside alley means she can sneak a placing. SELECTIONS: Keen on All To Do in the last. Gets things to suit.

Sunshine Coast Computer Card - October 18
Horsham: Race 2 @ 1:50pm
Looks a solid tempo with Yoshi Mokuyo and Equinox likely to run them along. Lowanna Magic (6) resumes and brings two strong placings from the first preparation. He settled back in those off wide gates but draws low today. He will come back further improved and sets a decent standard. THE TURFFINATOR (8) brought some decent runs to resumption when beaten 1.9L at Geelong. He should be right in the finish building on that at country level. YOSHI MOKUYO (9) just missed the placings on debut and resumes off a very long break. It wouldn't surprise if he's forward for the return and will be a player if he is. EQUINOX (3) was well-bet but disappointed resuming on the synthetic. He gets a 4kg claim and has the speed to manage the sticky gate. No surprise to see him make quick improvement. SELECTIONS: #6 Lowanna Magic has a future and expect the local barn to have him ready to go.
Lismore: Race 5 @ 3.50pm
Off the outside gate expecting Rule Breaker to slide across the face of the field while Daashur will boot up on the fence and try to hold the lead. Cool Intelligence (14) is doing it all on raw ability this campaign. Lines up for her fourth start this afternoon. Strong to the line when third at the Gold Coast a fortnight ago. Drops in grade and stepping to 1410m appears to suit. Hard to beat with the Edmonds polish. MISS PIERPOINT (11) is a threat. Disappointing last start when settling too far back. Prior form was very consistent. Freshened and can settle much closer from the soft draw. MONEY TRAVELS (3) has had a few chances. Trained locally and goes well here. Can run well without shock. FLICK (10) has been disappointing this time in but is drawn better. STARS ARE TRUMPS (12) best of the remainder. SELECTIONS: Cool Intelligence straight out.
Kalgoorlie Race 2 @ 5:50pm (AEST)
Staralign, Recapitulate and Major Mambo can make the speed from Cuban Twist. Staralign (2) seeks the hat-trick for the leading yard and keeps getting better. Won his only run at the mile and is well-placed to can keep things rolling. Stablemate CUBAN TWIST (3) was beaten 1.5L looking to make it four on end. Has switched back to the Fernie barn and presents as the danger. FINGERMARK (4) had been racing well and wasn't disgraced the latest in the Listed Hannans. Gets some gear changes and the 2kg claim today and can make the finish. RECAPITULATE (6) led and faded late last time in a bit stronger looking for the hat-trick and has to be kept in mind. SELECTIONS: With Staralign. Cuban Twist the danger and quinella.
