Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 23.
Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Newcastle, Ballina, Geelong and Cairns.
BEAUMONT (NEWCASTLE): RACE 3 @ 3:05 PM
A bit to learn here with a few facing the starter for the first time. Of the raced brigade ESTONIA (1) is unlucky to still be a maiden with two consecutive runner-up finishes this time in, including one over this journey last time out. Is clearly the one to beat. ANGELICAL (3) is on debut but looked good winning a recent Scone trial and is from a good barn. Looks set for a bold showing first time at the races. The well-bred PHAROAH'S REIGN (4) is stablemate to the top selection and won a recent Rosehill trial. Has to be respected. ABSURD (2) finally gets her chance to go to the races after seven trials. Watch betting closely. The well-related PURE DREAM (5) best of the rest.

BALLINA: RACE 6 @ 5:15 PM
HOT NEWS (4) resumes for the hot Costa barn and the latest trial was sharp. Two-back won the Gold Coast Maiden fresh and a top hoop will give her the run of the race from the low barrier. Will have come on and is sure to take beating. ENDANGERED SPECIES (5) made good improvement placing at Lismore. Has more up the sleeve and finds easier grade. Well in the mix. NANAKOROBI YAOKI (7) led and won this grade by a space and then came here and led again beaten a lip. Keeps the 4kg claim and will run along but has to see out the longer sprint. KING FAROUK (12) seeks the hat-trick and keeps improving. The wide gate requires a good ride from the 2kg claimer.

GEELONG: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM
AND SHE WAS (2) was close-up at Ballarat and then was out-graded at Flemington at 70 level. Peaks now and comes back to a very winnable race. TORAMOUR (8) draws well and third-up has more to give off the two-placed efforts. The winkers go on first time. Has a chance along with APPEALING (3) who did enough on debut for the new barn to seriously consider. INARI (5) was doing her best work late on debut and will have come on. Can't be ruled out.
SELECTIONS: Going with And She Was.
CAIRNS: RACE 3 @ 2:50 PM
YES DREAM (1) has won his only two starts and at that last victory he won easily as the $1.65 favourite, hard to see him not making it a hat-trick. SANTA MARINELLA (2) battled on well at Townsville last time out when finishing third and looks the main danger to the favourite. SPIRIT MEISTER (4) won easily here last start to shred his maiden status and that run followed a game run for third after receiving a bad check with 300m to run. Include in combinations. CHYNA XPRESS (6) fought on well to win at Townsville two back and followed that run up with a fifth after beginning badly. Can run a place with a better beginning.
