ROSEHILL December 4

For Value

RACE 2 (5) LUCKY BANNER: Has had little go her way this prep as she has sought to record a Highway win over shorter distances but her efforts have indicated she can win in this grade. Should certainly have finished closer in her last two Highway starts over 1500m and 1600m at Rosehill and Kembla Grange, performances that have stated she really is looking for this longer distance. Rates well this time as the advantage of a 3kg claim sees her meeting numerous rivals from her recent starts on better terms.

RACE 3: (6) Starman

RACE 5: (12) Ficheur

RACE 6: (11) Spaltet

RACE 7 (3) WELSH LEGEND: Chris Waller has waited an extra week to give this mare every chance on a better track than she would have encountered at Rosehill last Saturday. It's a similar contest and the trial win she recorded since her excellent first-up fifth over 1400m at this course has her ready for the 2000m. She's won twice on her home track and significantly her last win was third-up over 1900m at this course in March when she was ridden by James McDonald.

RACE 8 (9) DEFICIT: Looks a genuine improver judging by the way he sprinted home over the top of a BM68 field over 1300m at Hawkesbury on November 18 carrying 57.5kg when having his second run back from a spell. That added to an excellent record that has seen him miss a place only once in six starts including an unlucky second over this course and distance at his only attempt on his home track last season. Comes from a stable enjoying a hot run and they have him well placed to make a bold bid third up.

RACE 10: (10) El Buena

TRIAL POINTERS

RANDWICK November 23: Unraced Zoustar filly BLACK ON BEAUTY is ready to rock as she has now won three of her four trials in preparation for her debut. This was another strong effort as she was always in control travelling well within herself to post one of the faster wins in the 1050m heats (63.85; 35.60).

HAWKESBURY November 22: The fastest 1000m heat was won by the Maher/Eustace maiden HUNDRED PROOF (59.77; 34.73). Speedy filly RUPERTAAR is set for a first-up win after running freely to record the fastest 800m heat win (46.98; 33.07). Other 800m heat winners to make an impression included maiden Fastnet Rock filly ROCK CHANT. She was brilliant speeding through the heavy ground to win her heat by more than eight lengths in fast time (47.97; 34.08). This was only her second trial and she obviously has the speed to win races.

RANDWICK November 11: WRITTEN DOUBT, an unraced 3YO filly by Written Tycoon was having her third trial and looks to have a bright future after a sharp win in her 780m heat (45.43; 33.10). Unraced Zoustar filly BLACK ON BEAUTY improved on her first trial to win her maiden heat over 1080m with style (65.47; 35.72).
