Al Ain (Deep Impact), a dual Grade 1 winner, will shuttle to Chatswood Stud in Victoria this season and he will stand for a fee of $12,100 (inc GST).

A winner of his two career starts as a juvenile, both over 1600 metres, the Yasutoshi Ikee-trained Al Ain won the Mainichi Hai (Gr 3, 1800m) at his second start as a three-year-old before he captured the Satsuki Sho (Gr 1, 2000m), which he did in a track record time of 1:57.8 - 1.4 seconds faster than his own sire.

Al Ain also won the Osaka Hai (Gr 1, 2000m) and he retired from racing having won five of his 20 career starts with his earnings totalling over $7 million.

The son of Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) is one of four winners out of the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (Gr 1, 6f) winner Dubai Majesty (Essence Of Dubai). His second dam is Great Majesty (Great Above) who also produced the multiple Listed winner Majestic Dinner (Formal Dinner).

Al Ain was bred by Northern Farm who sold him for $1.4 million as a yearling and was raced by Sunday Racing.

"Al Ain's performance was at a high level for a long time of his racing career and he also has a strong mentality to perform well under any circumstance," said Northern Farm's Katsumi Yoshida.

"He was mainly racing at 1600 to 2000 metres, but the amount of speed he had suggests he could have also showed a high performance at a shorter distance race.

"I am very confident that his progeny will fit well with the races in Australia, and I look forward to seeing his foals in Australia soon."
