Swettenham Stud-based sire Puissance De Lune (Shamardal) was handed his second stakes winner on Saturday when Chantrea (3 f ex Mosse by Danzig Connection) retained her unbeaten record in the Belmont Oaks (Listed, 2000m).

The three-year-old filly came into the race having won her four previous engagements and she was able to keep her record clean when she beat Cambist (Gingerbread Man) by a length with a nose back to Heaven's Gift (Not A Single Doubt) in third.

Chantrea is one of nine winners out of Mosse (Danzig Connection) and she is the first stakes winner. Mosse herself is out of multiple stakes winner In The Mist (Southern Appeal), making her a half-sister to De Lago Mist (Encosta De Lago).

De Lago Mist produced Shrouded In Mist (Exceed And Excel) and Into The Mist (Redoute's Choice) - who both landed the Queen of the South Stakes (Gr 2, 1600m). She also produced Listed scorer Instinction (Exceed And Excel).

Chantrea joins Group 2 winner Moonlight Maid as Puissance De Lune's other stakes winner and he will stand the 2020 season for a fee of $18,000 (plus GST).
