Deniki (3 f Not a Single Doubt - Isurava by General Nediym) shed her maiden status at the third time of asking when won the Vinery Stallions Maiden Plate (1100m) at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The Mark Newnham-trained daughter of Not A Single Doubt (Redoute's Choice) came out on top of a close finish to beat $1.7 million yearling Osamu (Exceed And Excel) by a nose, while Newsreader (Press Statement) was another two lengths away in third.

"She got the job done and she beat a nice colt," Newnham said.

"As long as she learns to contain that speed she is going to make a really nice filly."

Bred and owned by Corumbene Stud's George Altomonte, the filly is out of Listed-winning General Nediym (Nediym) mare Isurava, making her a three-quarters sister to 2007 Run To The Rose (Gr 2, 1200m) winner Menari (Snitzel), who was also placed at Group 1 level, and a further two winners.

Isurava herself is a sister to Group 2 winner Ichihra and Listed scorer Au Chocolat.

Further back the filly hails from the same family has multiple Group 1 winners Whisked (Whiskey Road) and Tie The Knot (Nassipour) and Listed winners Hood (Shamardal), Dream Ballad (Singspiel), Shame On You (Cerreto) and Cherry Tortoni (Night Of Thunder).

In 2019 Isurava produced a filly by Arrowfield Stud's four-time champion sire Snitzel (Redoute's Choice), while she produced another filly by the sire this season.
