By Newgate Farm-based first season sire Flying Artie (Schiller), the colt is out of unraced Hard Spun (Danzig) mare Canary, who is herself a daughter of Listed scorer Vocalist (Bluebird). Anamoe

Trainer:
James Cummings
Breeder: Godolphin Australia, NSW
Owner: Godolphin

Anamoe will look to become the second consecutive winner of this race for his sire Street Boss (Street Cry) with his other son Hanseatic winning the Listed contest 12 months ago. The colt comes into the race having finished fifth in the Debutant Stakes (Listed, 1000m), in which he was doing his best work late. By looks of the colt’s pedigree he should only improve the further he goes, being out of SAJC Australasian Oaks (Gr 1, 2000m) winner Anamato (Redoute’s Choice), whose three winners are headed by Irish Listed winner Anamba (Shamardal). Anamato herself is a half-sister to 1996 Oakleigh Plate (Gr 1, 1100m) winner Drum (Marauding) and also hails from the same family as middle distance Group 1 winners Grand Armee (Hennessy), Yourdeel (Dundeel) and Dealer Principal (Flying Spur).
