Juddmonte Farms’ sire Kingman (Invincible Spirit) was handed his 27th stakes winner on Sunday as the Archie Watson-trained Parent’s Prayer (3 f ex Pure Excellence by Exceed And Excel) proved too classy for her rivals in the Garnet Stakes (Listed, 1m) at Naas.

The three-year-old filly was last seen running third in the Fairy Bridge Stakes (Gr 3, 7.5f) at Gowran Park on September 2 and she added valuable black-type to her CV when beating Best On Stage (Pastorius) and Stormy Belle (Dandy Man) - who dead-heated for second - by three lengths.

Purchased by BBA Ireland for €165,000 at the 2019 Tattersalls Ireland Goresbridge Flat Breeze-Up Sale, the three-year-old filly is one of two winners and first stakes winner out of 2012 Montrose Stakes (Listed, 1m) Pure Excellence (Exceed And Excel).

The filly’s third dam is Lydia Maria (Danehill) produced Listed winner Barolo (Danehill), while further back this is the same family as Group 1 winners Connaught Bridge (Connaught) and Primo Valentino (Primo Dominie) and 2013 Colin Stephen Quality Handicap (Gr 3, 2400m) winner Julienis (Cape Cross).

Kingman is represented in Australia this season by his Group 2-winning son Calyx, who is standing at Coolmore Stud in the Hunter Valley for a fee of $17,600 (inc GST).
