Cable Bay notches up his fourth stakes winner
Four for Cable Bay
KIng’s Lynn (3 g ex Kinematic Kyllachy), a homebred by The Queen, provided Woodside Park shuttler Cable Bay (Invincible Spirit) with his fourth stakes winner when the Andrew Balding-trained gelding won the Achilles Stakes (Listed, 5f) at Haydock. Starting favourite, King’s Lynn was held up behind the early leaders and then started making his move with two furlongs left to travel. Taking the lead in the final furlong he held on to score by a neck from Moss Gill (No Nay Never). Cable Bay first shuttled in 2017 and has covered 403 mares during his four seasons in Australia.

14 for Paco Boy
Paco Boy (Desert Style) sired his 14th stakes winner on Saturday when Paco (3 c ex Momo No Sekku by Leroidesanimaux) won the Derby Du Midi (Listed, 1900m) at Bordeau Le Bouscat. The colt beat the favourite, Absurde (Fastnet Rock) by a neck, with a nose further back to Singledon (New Bay) in third. Paco Boy’s stakes winners include dual Group 1 winner Galileo Gold whose first crop are now two-year-olds. He was sold to Turkey in 2017 having stood at Highclere Stud in England and he shuttled to Waikato Stud for one season in 2011.
