Group placed son of Ferlax to continue his racing in Asia after being sold to Hong Kong interests
Jason Belltree (Ferlax) looks set to continue his racing career in Asia after being sold to Hong Kong interests.
The Bruce Wallace and Grant Cooksley-trained colt has won one of his eight career starts and placed on another four occasions including in the Bonecrusher Stakes (Gr 3, 1400m), Auckland Guineas (Gr 2, 1600m), and Avondale Guineas (Gr 2, 2100m). He was last seen finishing eighth in the New Zealand Derby (Gr 1, 2400m) at Ellerslie on March 7.
“He should really suit racing up in Hong Kong, I think he is best at a mile,” Cooksley said.
Jason Belltree was bought for NZ$60,000 at the 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale from Regal Farm having been sold to Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry for just NZ$13,000 at the Karaka May Sale the year prior from the draft of Haunui Farm.
