Aquis Farm has purchased an interest in the Domesday colt Extra Brut ahead of his bid for Saturday’s $2 million Victoria Derby at Flemington.
The Darren Weir-trained Extra Brut will race in the Derby in the aqua and black checked silks of Aquis Farm for the first time after acquiring a share in the colt from Spicer Thoroughbreds.
"Aquis have bought in and have backed their stallion Domesday in doing so,” said Brad Spicer.“He’s a real quality colt, so it makes sense."
Extra Brut (Domesday x Dom Perion by Redoute's Choice) has won three of his first five starts in his build up to the Derby including a stakes win in the Listed UCI Stakes (1800m) at Flemington.
