Race 1: Class 4 (1000M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

The first event on another mammoth fifteen-event card will see the imports line up over the short course. (1) SIRIUS A looks a big chance in the event after finishing third on debut behind a very impressive Balvenie. Moon Se-young sticks with the Malibu Moon colt who has drawn favourably for his second run. (7) MUNHAK MOON is another main chance that finished second on debut behind Spring King. The Gemologist colt clocked a good time given he was on debut, with some improvement he is an each way chance. (8) NAESAENGAE CHOEGO comes out of the Balvenie race where the two-year-old finished fifth. He yielded ground after sitting on speed early in the event. (10) DUSON JANGGUN looks best of the debutants after a fair trial. Place chances look best for the Broken Vow two-year-old on debut.

Selections (1) Sirius A (7) Munhak Moon (8) Naesaengae Choego (10) Duson Janggun

Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 75 Million

A field of eleven juveniles all making their racecourse debuts will line up in race 1. The eye-catcher in trials was one of the fillies, (7) REAL CONCORD. While her fast time was helped by a very wet track, the manner in which she ran away from the rest of the field was impressive and if she can bring that form to the actual races, then she looks good for the win. (2) M J STORM is the first foal out of Smart Time, a winner of five races here up to class 2 level. M J Storm won his trial in good order and shapes well to go well first-up today. (6) CHEONGSAN GANGHO and (11) CHOEGANGYEONGCHEON both ran 2nd in their respective heats and both should be competitive. So should (8) NUBIGO who looked as though she knows what's required of her when 3rd in a trial all the way back in June.

Selections (7) Real Concord (2) M J Storm (6) Cheongsan Gangho (11) Choegangyeongcheon

Race 3: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

The two and three-year-old Korean-bred gallopers line up in the third where there are many chances. (3) JINTTOBAEGI finished of nicely in his debut run when second to Hwanggeum Power. The two-year-old is likely to camp on the leader's backs for being presented by Lee Hyeok to finish off strongly. (1) HAPPY DAY is another two-year-old that showed plenty on debut. The filly comes out of the same race where she finished third. (2) HOEDURYEONG steps up to the 1200m after finishing second behind Raon Dia on debut. The margin was big between first and second but we suspect he will appreciate the step up to the 1200m. (6) HEALING GONGJU looks next best after finishing third on debut when clocking a good time on a dry track.

Selections (3) Jinttobaegi (1) Happy Day (2) Hoeduryeong (6) Healing Gongju
Next Best 5, 11

Race 4: Class 6 (1400M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Only one of these has raced at the distance before. That's (1) ABOUT SOMETHING and she took to it well, running 4th on her latest start just over a month ago. She'll need to improve again but it bodes well. (9) BIROE KING beat three of these on his way to 3rd place over 1200M on August 1st. He ran on strong that day for what was his second 3rd in two starts and the additional trip may well be to his benefit today. (6) RIDE MAN and (8) A.P. PATEK were back down the track behind him that day but the latter especially looks like he wants furthers and having previously been a runner-up at 1300M, looks to have solid claims here. (10) GO WELL went ok when 4th over 1200M on August 2nd, coming from off the pace and is another for whom the step up in trip should suit.

Selections (8) A. P. Patek (9) Biroe King (1) About Something (10) Go Well

Race 5: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

The Class 6 Korean-bred gallopers line up in the fifth where there looks only a handful of winning chances. (7) GHOST VILLAGE goes on top with no great deal of confidence. The Quality Road colt finished midfield behind Old Blade on debut. Whilst beaten a big margin the quality of opposition is much less here, plus we are expecting some natural improvement at her second start. (11) MAX DAERO comes off a last start fifth behind Challenge Socks. Moon Se-young sticks with her suggesting she may be able to figure. Her last start time was slow though. (10) THUNDER K lines up for start four after finishing fourth behind Shadow Queen last time out over the 1200m. She was one paced through the line but this looks easier. She'll have Busan rider Seo Seung-un aboard who rides in the Minister's Cup on Sunday. (6) BALLISTA will be stretched out to the 1300m at his second start after finishing fourth on debut last month.

Selections (7) Ghost Village (11) Max Daero (10) Thunder K (6) Ballista

Race 6: Class 6 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 40 Million

Three-year-old maiden fillies only here. (8) HARUON comes in off the back of consecutive 3rd place finishes since the restart, the latter of which saw her record the fastest time of any of these at this distance so far, albeit on a very wet track. She can come from off the pace and go close today. (6) ACE CHEONHA was a significantly improved 2nd on her return from the lengthy layoff in July. It was over 1000M but she ran through the line well and the increased distance shouldn't pose a problem here. (10) CAREER HIGH was 3rd on debut but on her re-appearance was fractious while being shoed and ended up racing shoeless. She finished 8th but Moon Se-young keeps faith and that suggests punters may wish to as well. (7) SHINE FIGHTER is inconsistent but has proven herself capable of running a time at various distances and should be in the frame. (5) LADY LUCKY was 2nd in what was an admittedly very slow race over 1200M three weeks ago and is another in the hunt.

Selections (8) Haruon (10) Career High (6) Ace Cheonha (7) Shine Fighter

Race 7: Class 6 (1200M) Allowance / KRW 25 Million

A maiden with not the strongest form lines greets us in the seventh. (11) COMPLETE SHINE looks capable of breaking maiden status if she can cross the outside gate. The Officer filly handed in a good performance last time out to place behind Never Walk Alone who looks a handy type. (2) SAENAMUI BYEOL finished much closer than we anticipated when resuming last start. The colt clocked a good time for this grade suggesting the three-year-old has appreciated the enforced break. (8) SAEROK SAEROK looks a place chance on a recent trial where clocking 63.4 seconds on a good track. (10) SAEROUN PARTY comes off a debut fourth but the Jeju ponies could have gone quicker. Uninspiring race.

Selections (11) Complete Shine (2) Saenamui Byeol (8) Saerok Saerok (10) Saeroun Party

Race 8: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Having made all to get her maiden win over 1000M in July, (1) GAJA PLAN almost repeated the trick on her first try at this class and distance on August 2nd. Ultimately she came unstuck late on but it was a good performance nonetheless and she has strong claims today. It's a similar story with (6) ROAD RAN, who led for much of the way on her first crack at this level in July only to go down to a good winner in the final furlong. She too will be on pace and should go close again. It could get crowded up front early as (9) RAON FASHION will be looking to work across from gate nine. He has already won at this distance and was a good 2nd on his latest start a month ago. (7) GOLDEN JAY, a class and distance runner-up last time will need to get a bit faster but should also be on pace from the start. If you fancy something to run over the top of them late on then it may be (10) DALRINEUN BITKKAL. He finished off strong last start to make 4th over this distance and should be in the placing mix here.

Selections (1) Gaja Plan (9) Raon Fashion (6) Road Ran (10) Dalrineun Bitkkal

Race 9: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Ten runners face the starter at Class Five level in the ninth event. (3) GEORGE QUEEN has started her career off in good style, winning on debut and backing it up with a second at this level last time out. The Musket Man filly has drawn ideally to sit on speed as per her previous starts. (4) BIG PLAN looks next best after finishing midfield behind handy type Shiny Fire last start. Whilst she was beaten by quite a few other runners on that occasion, she clocked a good time which should see her a big chance this time around. (10) SENTOSA will have her third start this time in and is capable of running into the money. She is yet to get her maiden win but it should not be far away with what she has shown us to date. (6) LUCKY SMILE looks next best after finishing close-up at her past couple of starts.

Selections (3) George Queen (4) Big Plan (10) Sentosa (6) Lucky Smile

Race 10: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 40 Million

Really competitive affair with almost all of them entering with at the very least, reasonable last start showings. (9) HAPPY HAWAII had the misfortune to run into a bang in form Whiz Moment earlier this month and had to settle for 2nd. She may still be a maiden after fourteen outings but that showing suggests that can change. She has a strong finish and Moon Se-young aboard won't do her chances any harm. (3) CHALLENGE SOCKS and (5) CUPID BISANG are both up in class following last start maiden wins. Both have the potential to be dangerous here coming from just behind the early speed. (11) J. S. POWER ran a decent enough race for 5th behind the excellent Carving Cross at the start of this month. The draw shouldn't be a problem and he can come home late and strong to challenge here.

Selections (9) Happy Hawaii (11) J.S. Power (3) Challenge Socks (5) Cupid Bisang
Next Best 1, 4, 8, 10
Fast Start 3, 5, 6

Race 11: Class 4 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

The eleventh on the card has eleven Korean-bred gallopers engaged who bring a mixture of form lines to the table. (9) RIDE LUCKY looks a progressive type engaged in the event coming off successive wins, both this preparation. Moon Sung-Hyeok takes 1kg off his back with the claim, he showed his ability last time out over this distance when winning by a comprehensive four lengths. (2) SHINY FIRE is another that comes into the race off successive wins. The Midshipman filly has been impressive this time in and warrants respect with just the 52kg on her back. (8) CHEONGANG SONG won when resuming over the 1200m to bring up his fourth victory. The lightly raced five-year-old showed plenty of gusto out of the gates when first up. (1) RAON WILLIAMS placed in this grade when first-up. The Testa Matta filly hit the line strong over the six furlongs which she will line up over again.

Selections (9) Ride Lucky (2) Shiny Fire (8) Cheongang Song (1) Raon WIlliams
Next Best 3, 4
Fast Start 2, 3, 6, 8, 9

Race 12: Class 4 (1300M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

Super race this with any number in the hunt. (11) CLEAN UP HAPPY has breezed through the lower grades with two wins and a 3rd. He hasn't raced since June 20th when with ease in a fast time on a dry track but while he is up in class again, the Paynter gelding is the one to beat. There are though a couple capable of beating him. (8) THANK YOU MOTHER struck at class and distance on July 26th beating three of these in the process. She has to carry an additional 3kg today but should still be right in the hunt. (2) GYORYONGDEUKSU and (9) RAON PATRICK both enter off the back of runner-up finishes at this class and both look capable of aiming to at least match that here. (10) DAEGUN POWER is a consistent type and while he carries top weight today, has every chance of matching or bettering the 3rd place he has secured in each of his latest two outings.

Selections (11) Clean Up Happy (8) Thank You Mother (10) Daegun Power (9) Raon Patrick
Next Best 2, 4
Fast Start 4, 5

Race 13: Class 4 (1700M) Allowance / KRW 60 Million

The Class 4 gallopers go over the two turns in the thirteenth. (2) HWANGGEUM LUCKY has finished second on three occasion from six starts and gets a good opportunity for his long-awaited maiden victory. The Constitution colt hit the line in good style when resuming to finish second behind Echo Bill. He should take improvement from the run and he will have the services of Moon Se-young. (10) MENI SPEED is another consistent type that has finished second at his past three starts. He comes off a runner-up performance behind Iron Socks over the two turns. His consistency means he will lump the topweight of 57kg. (4) GLOBAL LUCKY is third-up this time around and whilst somewhat disappointing last start, she is worth keeping safe. The filly finished second in a similar event two starts back behind Big Triple. (11) EUNEO CHUKJE adds some intrigue to the race stepping up to the 1700m for the first time. He looks capable off filling a minor placing with the right run.

Selections (2) Hwanggeum Lucky (10) Meni Speed (4) Global Lucky (11) Euneo Chukje
Next Best 3, 8
Fast Start 4, 6, 11

Race 14: Class 1 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 110 Million

Five of these raced each other at this class over 1900M on July 25th and despite lugging 59kg around, (3) WINNER GOLD came out the best of them running a good 2nd. He carries the same impost today and it's going to be fascinating to see how they go this time around because while over two turns Winner Gold probably is the class act of the race, this won't be easy. (9) ULTRA ROCKET and (4) URI came home 3rd and 4th in that race and both, especially the lightly weighted Uri look contenders to overturn that form today but the other two beaten ones, (11) LIL' PATRON and (1) GANGTOMA too are certainly capable and should be there or thereabouts again. As for those who didn't go in that race, (2) DIA SOCKS, better known as a sprinter who usually finishes 2nd, is an intriguing entry and worth consideration as his racing style should suit here while (10) JANGSAN COWBOY comes in off a strong 2nd at 1800M and can go close. (7) SANGGAM MAMA will likely get an easy lead but probably can't maintain it.

Selections (4) Uri (2) Dia Socks (11) Lil' Patron (1) Gangtoma

Race 15: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

An exciting affair to finish off the fifteen-event card with some handy types going over the short course. (8) MIGHTY NEW has been mighty impressive at his first two starts winning both of them in good style. The New Zealand bred galloper gets into the race with just 52kg and will reunite with Alan Munro who rode him on debut. He held off a late charge from Haengbok Wangja last time out where the pressure was applied early in the race. (5) CUPID MISSION has good form in this grade coming off successive seconds behind Charlie Style and Singsing Mary. The grey's connections deserve another victory with his only win coming on debut, he has since had six starts placing in five of them. (4) FINAL STAR resumed in good order last time out winning over the six furlongs. He drops 2.5kg on his last run with the rise in class. (3) SOMETHING EXPECT has been good at his three starts. The Blame colt won when resuming and will carry just the 52.5kg from a good draw. Great race.

Selections (8) Mighty New (5) Cupid Mission (4) Final Star (3) Something Expect
