Easter maiden victories for sisters

A pair of sisters recorded their respective maiden wins on Easter Monday, but at opposite ends of the country.

The Jamie Richards-trained Charmaine's Dream was the first sister on the board, winning over 1200m at Tauranga.

Two hours later her year older full-sister, Sacred Kitty, cleared maiden ranks with a half-head victory over 1200m at Riverton for owner-trainer Kalai Selvan.

The pair were bred by a partnership including Windsor Park Stud, who stand their shuttle stallion sire Charm Spirit. They are out of Scattercat, a two-win half-sister to Group One winner Captivate.

Sacred Kitty was purchased out of Windsor Park Stud's 2018 New Zealand Bloodstock Book 1 Yearling Sale draft for $70,000 by Raffles Racing, while Charmaine's Dream was purchased out of Leanach Lodge's 2019 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready To Run Sale of 2YOs draft by Te Akau's David Ellis on behalf of Fortuna Syndications.
