Australian Well Placed For Winning Singapore Debut

3 minute read

Former Australian Sun Rectitude makes his Singapore debut alongside several other lightly-raced but promising sprinters in an intriguing clash at Kranji on Friday.

Sun Rectitude – who raced in Australia as Rectitude – lines up in the final race of the program, a class 4 over 1200m.

Sun Rectitude is now in the care of Desmond Koh after showing ability in his brief career with Gerald Ryan in New South Wales.

Sun Rectitude didn't miss a place in five runs for Ryan, highlighted by a Wyong win and a third at Canterbury.

He hasn't raced since January but has been well prepared for his return with three trials and looked to have acclimatised well when scoring a two-length win in his latest hitout.

The three-year-old gelding produced some decent ratings while in Australia and if he can run up to that level he looks well-placed in this line up.

The race could be one to keep an eye on going forward as a handful of talented types make their return to the track including Ararat Lady.

The Cliff Brown-trained filly resumes after being beaten three lengths in a Group 3 and while she only raced three times last campaign it is worth noting she did kick it off with a win on the all weather over 1100m.

She is proven on both turf and synthetic and she has a trial under the belt so expect she will be wound up for another bold first-up showing.

Siam Mp returns after racing just twice at his maiden preparation but he hinted at better things to come when scoring at this course and distance by 2.3 lengths on debut.

It's fair to think he will have matured and developed ahead of his second campaign and he should be fit enough after two trials.

I Am The One is another Australian on debut in Singapore and he too can be considered a hope fresh after winning in Adelaide first up last year.

He has been given two trials to acclimatise and showed dramatic improvement when winning his latest hitout by 4.3 lengths.

Good luck and happy punting.
