Australian champion Anamore has been retired to stud by owners Godolphin and will not take up his engagement in the Queen Anne Stakes (G1) at Royal Ascot in June.

Only the second Australian horse in the last twenty years to score in Group One company at two, three and four-years-old, Anamoe recorded fourteen career wins with nine Group One victories. Highlights of his career included wins in the 1m Caulfield Guineas (G1), the 1m2f Rosehill Guineas (G1) and last year's Cox Plate (G1) at Moonee Valley.

Former trainer James Cummings said, "Our team is proud of all he's achieved during his racing career. He has never let us down and has been there for us at every start. We wish him all the best in his retirement, and we can't wait to see his progeny coming through the stables in the years to come."

The four-year-old amassed career earnings of more than £6 million and will be joining the stallion roster at Darley in Australia for the 2023 season. By Street Boss, Anamoe was the best progeny of dam Anamato (Redoubte's Choice) who also produced Naas Listed winner Anamba, trained by Mick Halford.

Anamoe is expected to be popular with breeders with an excellent pedigree and racing record. Vin Cox, Managing Director of Godolphin in Australia, said, "It is bittersweet to see Anamoe retire from the racetrack. As an iconic figure for Godolphin and the world of horseracing, he leaves a legacy that will not be forgotten, and he has nothing more to prove."

"The trifecta of performance, pedigree, and attitude are the most critical factors breeders consider and he possesses them all in spades," he added. "As he embarks on his new journey on the prestigious Darley roster, there's no doubt that he is the most sought after and, exceptional stallion Australia has ever seen."
