Saturday's features are the Whittingham for 3-year-olds and up at 1 ¼ miles on turf, the Grade 2 Triple Bend Stakes for 4-year-olds and up at seven furlongs, and the Grade 3 Daytona Stakes for 4-year-olds and up at 6 ½ furlongs on turf.

Sunday's headliner is the Grade 2 Summertime Oaks at 1 1/16 miles.

In all, seven lucrative stakes races will be decided over this holiday weekend offering $1.6 million in purse money.

Santa Anita Handicap (G1) winner Idol will miss the Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Following that victory in March, Idol was in line for a chance at the inaugural $1 million Wild West Bonus, a series linking the Santa Anita Handicap, Gold Cup, and TVG Pacific Classic Stakes (G1) at Del Mar in August. A small field is likely to contest what is expected to be a competitive Gold Cup.
