26th Shuka Sho at Hanshin Sunday

3 minute read

This is the third leg of the fillies' triple crown.

The title won't be achieved this year as no horse has won the first two legs.  The first leg, the Oka Sho, was won by the wonderful white filly Sodashi.  She failed to deliver in the next leg, the Himba or Oaks, but has done something to redeem herself by winning over the 2000m of the Shuka Sho trip in Sapporo.  She's odds-on to win this and with the weather being favourable (a few light showers in the morning) she should oblige.

Fine Rouge will be partnered by Christophe Lemaire and is on 6.0 after finishing third in the Oka Sho.  Andvaranaut and Akaitorino Musume are both around 7.8 and Uberleben, a daughter of Gold Ship and winner of the Himba is on 9.3.
