Panfield was more fancied but it was the Brazilian bred Butterfield who proved the better of Mr Yue's two runners. Matthew Poon was in the irons and Danny Shum got the quinella when Charity Fun came second – just a short head between the stablemates and Reliable Team was only a head away in third.

Russian Emporer was disappointing – he did get a few problems with the traffic and the pace wasn't all that fast.  Packing Waltham also encountered some traffic problems but managed to get free and finish fourth.
