Raiders are coming from every direction for the Saint Cloud card.
The two G1s start off the festivities with the 2yos running over 1600m in the Criterium International and the Criterium de Saint Cloud over 2000m.
The prices mentioned here are UK quotes and therefore tend to favour the UK runners.
So in the International there are 7 runners and the surface is very soft. Lagadere winner Angel Bleu is on 2/1 for Ralph Beckett with Dettori riding but we prefer the local Ancient Rome on 9/4 for Fabre-Barzalona. Aidan O'Brien's Glounthaune is on 6/1 and running for the third weekend in succession and our roughie here isn't really that rough – Oscula, a really tough filly who has the weight benefit and is going for her 10th run this season. She also has William Buick riding for George Boughey.
The Saint Cloud has Godolphin's unbeaten Dubawi colt Goldspur on top – Appleby-Buick and 5/2. There are numerous O'Briens here – Unconquerable belongs to Donnacha and is on 4/1 with Dettori riding the Churchill product. 5/1 is available for Stone Age from Aidan's yard with Soumillon riding as the son of Galileo tries to break his maiden. Apart from the fav we like Dreamflight, a Frankel colt who is with Fabre and Barzalona rides. 9 run.
There are 3 G3s to follow. The Prix Perth is over 1600m and Magny Cours is on 2/1 for Fabre-Barzalona, Century Dream 11/4 for the Crisfords with Buick riding and we like Jin Jin, a German raider from Andreas Suborics with Aantony Crastus riding and they are on 11/2. 9 run.
The Prix Belle de Nuit is over 2200, for the f&m with a field of 9, headed by Joie de Soir on 7/4. Another Coolmore horse with Andre Fabre and Barzalona rides. Control Tower is on 5/1 for Nicolas Clement and Cristian Demuro, and the raider here is Quenelle d'Or 6/1 from Hugo Palmer's yard with Mendizabal on board. 9 run.
The Prix de Flore is also for f&m over 2100m with 8 runners. Angel Power is on 13/8 for Roger Varian and Oisin Murphy. Sweet Lady is 11/4 Graffard-Mendizabal, and Rumbles of Thunder 6/1 for Reynier-Hadouin.
