On what was otherwise a very ordinary day of racing at Sha Tin, Zac Purton secured his 1000th winner!

He had to wait for Race 3 to do it and it was on the appropriately named "Thanks Forever" that the win came.  While Purton was presented what was probably a very nice bottle of champagne, we hope that some extra carrots will be winging their way across to John Moore's yard and Thanks Forever's stall.

Douglas Whyte is the only other jockey to pass the 1000 winners mark and he got up to 1800 and something over 23 seasons. Zac has done it in 12.and has only 999 wins to go to get to the 2000 mark.

It's a great feat and Zac is riding as well as any jockey in the world at present.
