This sprint held at Hanshin is often seen as a lead-up to the Sprinters Stakes.

But that race is run at Nakayama at the end of September and the two tracks are quite different so the form does not necessarily work out.  However Tower of London under Christophe Lemaire won by 3 lengths from Fantasist 17/1 and Iberis 4/1.

Also in the field was Moanin, who had won the Sprint in Korea on this day last year, but of course the Japanese did not send any runners this year because of political differences with South Korea, which is a shame.
