Great day at Leopardstown for Rachael Blackmore

3 minute read

She rode her 7th and 8th Gr 1 winners and also had a second.

That was in the Novice Hurdle when her mount Cobbler's Way was unable to catch Latest Exhibition.

She missed out in the Dublin Chase when A Plus Tard was scratched owing to the drying ground.  That race went to the Mullins pair of Chacun Pour Soi and Min.

The Arkle Novice Chase saw her guide Notebook through the fences to win with Cash Back the chaser.

Then The Irish Champion Hurdle saw her partner the very gallant mare Honeysuckle to an excellent victory over Darver Star and the 2017 winner Petit Mouchoir, with Supasundae fourth.

They're racing at Leopardstown on Sunday too with the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup the feature.

Blackmore and de Bromhead have a chance to get on the board early here in the Gr 1 Juvenile Hurdle with Aspire Tower. Odds-on at 4/7 with Cerberus on 9/2 and Wolf Prince.

The Novice Hurdle has 7 runners with Easywork going for a fourth consecutive win for Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy.  Mt Leinster is 5/2 and Asterion Folonge, and the Novice Chase sees a potential battle between Faugheen 13/8 and Battleoverdoyen 7/4.

The Gold Cup sees not much between Kemboy from the Mullins yard and Delta Work from the Elliott yard.  They are on around 7/4.  We like Presenting Percy – not sure if he is up to this level but he's a nice horse  and 7/2 is OK.
