Irish horses not going to Dubai

3 minute read

Aidan O'Brien has withdrawn his runners from the Dubai World Cup meeting due to the travel problems resulting from Covid-19.

And it is understood the only other Irish entrant Speak in Colours will not be going.

From the O'Brien yard that means Kew Gardens is out of the Gold Cup, Sergei Prokofiev the Al Quoz Sprint, Anthony van Dyck, Fleeting and Mount Everest from the Sheema, New World Tapestry from the UAE Derby and of course Magic Wand and Circus Maximus from the Cup.

John Gosden has confirmed that Lord North will go to the Dubai Turf, probably to be ridden by Frankie Dettori, but the filly Star Catcher is not going.
