French racing at Deauville

3 minute read

Deauville has taken over from the courses in the red zone (Chantilly, Longchamp) for this big weekend.

Sunday sees the running of two G2s – the Gran Priz de Chantilly over 2500m with 6 runners and the G2 Prix de Gros-Chêne down the 1000m straight with 9 runners.

Ziyad, trained by Carlos Laffon Parias will have Maxime Guyon on board.  They won over this track and distance last August and look like they could repeat the victory here.  Expected to start favourite around evens.  Next best could be French King with Peslier riding for Pantal and their quote expected to be around 4.50.

The Prix de Gros-Chêne contains most of the runners from the G3 at Longchamp on 11 May.  That was won by Batwan who is on 4.00 with Gold Vibe second in that race on 5.50 and Sestilio Jet third on about the same quote.  Roughie here is Tour de Paris on 10.0.
