There is a possibility of a rain-affected track as rain overnight is forecast and while the afternoon looks like being OK there is a chance of rain and/or thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The G3 Jersey Stakes is over 1400m for 3yos with 15 runners.  It is looking as if the stands side has an edge and this should help King Leonidas 5/2 for Gosden-Dettori.  He's unbeaten in two.  The next in market order are Molatham (Varian-Crowley) and Monarch of Egypt (O'Brien-Moore) both on 9/2.  A French raider here Celestin comes from Fabrice Chappet's yard and James Doyle has the ride on the promising colt who is 6/1.

The Gold Cup is G1 over 4000m with 8 runners including two former Melbourne Cup runners one of whom won and the other placed twice – Cross Counter 8/1 and Prince of Arran 25/1.  Stradivarius is going for a third consecutive win in this race and ticks all the boxes for John Gosden and Frankie Dettori therefore he's odds-on – 4/7.  Watch out for the rain and any change in track conditions – Stradivarius would prefer good going.
