Irish Derby 2020

3 minute read

There are 15 runners lined up for this 2400m classic. While it is open to fillies as usual there aren't any in the line up.

Two of Aidan O'Brien's horses head the call – Santiago, the Authorised colt who was so impressive in winning the Queen's Vase at Ascot, and the Camelot colt Arthur's Kingdom who ran second to Pyledriver in the Edward VII.  11/4 and 5/1.

Son Joseph saddles the unbeaten Kitten's Joy colt Crossfirehurricane who recently won the Gallinule here on the Curragh and is on 11/2.

Fiscal Rules is on 7/1 for Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning but he will need to lift a bit to be competitive in this – he's still a maiden too.

Following that there's the G3 Vintage Crop over 2800m and Sovereign is on 15/8 for Aidan and Seamus Hefffernan, Master of Reality 2/1 for Joseph O'Brien and Shane Crosse and then  10/1 could be a good each-way for the Bolger-Manning Trossachs.
