The 7yo grey showed great determination to win the Grand Prix de Saint Cloud yesterday.

He was in a three-way photo with Nagano Gold and Ziyad with the margin in all cases being a head.

The disappointment was Old Persian who was ridden by Mickael Barzalona, who had to stand down after this race as earlier in the day he was attacked by his horse's stablemate as they were exercising, the other horse getting a mouthful of Mickael's leg which left the jockey with a very sore and bruised leg.

Earlier in the Prix du Muguet Persian King had to fight but stuck to his guns and got the win over Petreville.
