The 22yo (just) has won his first English G1 with Fancy Blue in the Sussex Stakes.

He has been handling the daughter of Deep Impact since she was still in his father's name and has been able to guide her to win the Diane and now the Sussex.  She is very likely to continue to the Arc.  Tom Marquand rode a blinder to get another second on One Voice who was on 20/1, with Nazeef third.  Deidre was running well in third spot until about 300m out when she sent backwards through the field – may be an issue there.

The Richmond was won by Supremacy for Cox-Kirby on 11/2 who put a fantastic 4 lengths on the field led by Yazaman and followed closely home by Lauded 10/1.

The Gordon went to Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore with Mogul 9/2 who led home Highland Chief 22/1 and Subjectivist 17/2 with favourite English King fourth.

Earlier in the peace a horse called Junkanoo won at 50/1!  We have to confess to a wee wager not because he's by Epaulette but Junkanoo is a famous West Indian street parade often referred to as Masquerade and it was made famous in the film "Thunderball" and yours truly was in that scene (and a couple of other scenes).  It was shot in Nassau.

Friday's card has the King George Qatar Stakes G2 for the speedsters over 1000m with 7 to run headed by the incomparable Battaash going for his 4th win in the race.  He's unbackable but if you want to find a roughie to quinella go for the French raider Ken Colt who won a Listed at Chantilly recently.

The Saint Clair Oak Tree comes earlier – G3 for f&m over 1400m with 13 runners.  Tom Marquand will be looking to break his run of seconds here when he gets on One Master for William Haggas – they are on 13/8 with the rest of the field quite open – Breathtaking Look is on 6/1, Althiqa 8/1 and Valeria Messalina is our roughie here on 10/1.

The Bonhams is G3 for 3yos over 1600m with only  runners.  Khaloosy is 4/7 – Jim Crawley in the irons and Roger Varian the trainer with another talented Sheik Hamdan horse.  My Oberon for William Haggas and Tom Marquand looks the next best on 4/1.

The L'Ormarins Queen's Plate Glorious Stakes is over 2400m G3 with 7.  Mark Johnstone and Joe Fanning are here with Communique 2/1.  Alounnah is 4/1 and Pablo Escobarr 5/1.
