Cape Gentleman wins Irish Cesarewitch

3 minute read

Cape Gentleman under Ronan Whelan was too strong in the 3200m handicap.

Emmet Mullins procured the horse from Nicola Clement and the horse seems to have adapted well to his new home.  Aircraft Carrier was second, De Name Escapes Me 18/1 third and Brazos 40/1 fourth.

Favourite Royal Illusion finished in 6th place but was disqualified when his jockey failed to weigh in.

The Anglesey saw John McConnel win his first group race as a trainer and owner with A Case of You who finished 1 ¼ lengths ahead of the more-favoured Lipizzaner with Giuliana third.

Aunty Bridy was scratched and Preamble was back in 6th.
