The second edition of this race will be run in Bahrain on Friday 19th November.

There's an interesting bunch of raiders featuring here plus a couple of worthy locals as 14 runners will contest the 2000m event worth a total of Stg 500,000.

Aidan O'Brien has supplemented Sovereign, winner of the 2019 Irish Derby, for a cost of 10,000 stg. so he must be feeling positive about his chances. Ryan Moore has the ride and the UK bookies seem to respect all this and have him as 7/2 favourite.  The question mark is the trip – he didn't do the 3,200m recently and 2,000m could be a bit short.

Deidre is one of our favourite horses and this is to be her last start before she goes on to motherhood.  Hollie Doyle will ride this time and let's hope she can persuade Deidre to put in a great run as her recent runs haven't been too impressive.  6/1 or thereabouts.

Global Giant represents the Goden-Dettori powerhouse and he requires serious consideration on 6/1.  Lord Glitters can never be underestimated and is on 7/1 as is local Port Lion from Fawzi Nass's yard.

Bangkok, Desert Encounter (now that's a topical name) and Certain Lad are all around the 8/1 mark and worth a good look.

It should be worth watching – around midnight EADT – as there is a 600m straight which could lead to some interesting contests.
