Le weekend Parisien

Saturday was racing at Saint Cloud and Sunday Longchamp

Saturday at Saint Cloud featured two G2s and a G3.  The Prix Greffulhe for 3yo is over the Derby distance and a chance for hopefuls to show their stuff.  Baby Rider from Pascal Bary's yard won this by a neck from Smile Makers and they were the best of the 7 runners.

The Prix du Mguet is G2 for 4y+ horses over 1600m and attracted 9 starters.  Duhail trained by Andre Fabre with Vincent Cheminaud on board won from Pretreville and Victor Ludorum.  We are not going to back Tropbeau until he wins something.

The Prix Cléopatre G3 was for the 3yo fillies again over 2100m with only 5 runners and at long last Harajuko came though.  Light at the end of the tunnel stuff.

On Sunday it was over to Longchamp for the Prix Ganay, a good outing for potential Arc runners.  And the winner was Mare Australia, by Australia, who had started his career in Germany with J-P Carvalho and won on debut at Munich under Filip Minarik. He then moved to France and kept winning races by long margins and in the Ganay he made all the running to win by 1 ¼ lengths from Gold Trip with Mogul arguably disappointing in third.

The Allez France went to Ebaiyra by a neck from favourite Raabihah in a good finish.

The Prix Barbeville went to Skazino on 12/1 by 4 ½ lengths from Sheraz with Karlarina third.
