He's by Deep Impact of course and had accumulated quite a few seconds without getting the break through until Sunday into the G1 family.  Yuga Kawada handled him beautifully and had enough horse at the finish to hold off the flying Gran Alegria.  She hadn't started all that well and was stuck behind a wall of horses coming into the straight and Lemaire had to wait until he could find a gap to get through, but it was too close to the finish and she was a head away from a 6th G1 win.

Schnell Meister made the most of his light weight and came through the middle to take the third spot ahead of Indy Champ.
