Group 1 winning sprinter Temple of Boom has been retired.
Trainer Tony Gollan announced on Tuesday that connections had decided to end the career of the nine year-old after his gallant fourth placing in the Magic Millions Sprint at the Gold Coast last Saturday.
Gollan said Temple Of Boom was sound but had done his job and the time was right to retire the gelding.
Temple Of Boom won 11 of his 64 starts and netted close to two million dollars in prizemoney.
The gelding won five times at stakes level highlighted by his Group 1 victory in the 2012 Galaxy.
He also won the Gilgai Stakes, Victory Stakes and Aurie’s Star Handicap and was placed another three times at Group 1 level including two Doomben 10,000s and a Stradbroke Handicap.
