Express Courier will be stepping out in the Tony Campbell Memorial Cup at Thoroughbred Park.

Express Courier justified a late market push last start when winning the TAB Federal in impressive fashion. The son of Foxwedge will look to make it 6 wins from his past 7 starts when he steps out in the 2020 TAB Tony Campbell Memorial Cup over 1400m this Friday at Thoroughbred Park.

Express Courier is undefeated on the Heavy-going and with consistent rain prior to race day, a rain effected track looks likely. Trainer Keith Dryden was very impressed with his galloper after winning fresh for the first time in his career.

"He was excellent last start" Dryden said. "He hit the line hard which holds him in really good stead for this preparation going forward."

"The step up to 1400m suits and we'll keep stepping him up in distance as his preparation goes on."

"He has been working exceptionally well and I imagine him to be right in the finish, he and Wandonna in Race 4 are the biggest chances tomorrow in my eyes."

Wandonna lines up in the Carbine Club Bob Barlow Memorial Handicap over the 1300m. She is a 13-start maiden but has been knocking on the door of a first victory.

Friday marks the 15th running of the TAB Federal Tony Campbell Memorial Cup named after legendary local race caller, Tony Campbell. The race again has attracted a fantastic field including duel TAB Federal winners Peyton Place and Supreme Polarity.

Last year's winner Sausedge trained by Matthew Dale, went on to win a Saturday city-class race and started favourite in the Listed National Sprint.

The TAB Tony Campbell Memorial Cup is Race 8 on the program and is due to jump at 5:30pm. Racing beings with the Heffernan Lending Solutions Handicap at 1:10pm.
