2020 SYDNEY STAKES – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Hot pace as Irithea and Prime Candidate drawn low can control things. Adelong and Special Reward can cross from wider out.
DEPRIVE (1) is the class runner of what has become known as a half million dollar 'Everest Consolation'. Resumed with a closing third behind Libertini in the Premiere Stakes a fortnight ago. Will be fitter for the run. Second up, course and distance credentials are all top shelf. Will relish what looks to be a hot early tempo and should take some holding out.
STANDOUT (4) was ridden upside down in the Premiere Stakes a fortnight ago. Best when ridden a touch quieter as evidenced by his closing fifth to Classique Legend in The Shorts. Another who like Deprive, should be closing late.
SPECIAL REWARD (2) drop-s back in trip after a battling effort over 1500m in the Cameron at Newcastle. Record over this distance is excellent. TRUMBULL (8) resumes. Yet to finish out of the money in five prior first up outings. IRITHEA (10) next best. Underrated mare who has a solid first up record. Will be prominent throughout.
