Winning Trainer: James Cummings
On the run: "They didn't make it easy for her. A bit harder than we hoped it would be. Sitting in behind might have been an option but Jason persevered, he was on a fit horse. She definitely relished a few things today. Freshened right up and getting her toe into the ground were big pluses."
On the lead up: "Those tracks were too firm for her the last two starts and she just won't let go. The guys at Osborne Park have done great at getting her back and convincing me to keep her going and not to tip her out and wait for next year. It's been a big result and a deserving result. Without winning a G1 this horse has won over $2million in prize money which is a wonderful credit to the prize money that owners everywhere in this country are privileged enough to race for."
On next effort: "We get the opportunity to see how she freshens up and we can discuss those things Monday morning. She might hold a nomination for The Hunter on a seven day back up. We have a mare in very, very good form. She will drop back nicely in distance to what is probably her best trip 1300m next week. There are those things in her favour."
On the future: "Or perhaps we just put her away and worry about trying to win the Canterbury Stakes, the Sangster, the Winter Stakes and maybe the Stradbroke to go with it."
Winning Jockey: Jason Collett
Thoughts in run: "I made her begin and she definitely had the superior speed in the race, it was just a case of harnessing it. She was obviously quite strong early but I got her back off Irithea and tried to bring the tempo out of the race. It was a good effort."
"She's done a very good job. Her two runs in Melbourne, they were just fair. I suppose there were probably excuses though from watching the replays."
On her preparation for this race: "They gave her the trial last Friday. Darren (Beadman) said 'You'd want to be riding her'. He is a reasonably good judge so it was great to be on her today and get the job done."
Beaten Jockeys:
Josh Parr (Positive Peace): "Raced flat today. Possibly at the end of the prep."
Tim Clark (Irithea): "A little bit below her best. Maybe she is taking it a little bit longer to come to hand. Might appreciate a drier surface."
Sam Clipperton (Jen Rules): "Probably just put it down to the soft surface."
Robbie Dolan (Wandabaa): "She ran well. She tried hard. She probably is not 100% seeing out the 1400m. Especially in a real testing event such as that."
Tom Sherry (Tricky Gal): "Huge effort. Plenty of speed early. They got a bit of a head start on us but she hit the line well."
