Trinder finds an Easy Road to MM Classic

3 minute read

The Adam Trinder-trained Easy Road was considered a potential Devonport Cup candidate earlier this season but when his trainer conceded he wasn’t ready to step up to the longer trips, he adjusted his training regime and aimed him at the 3 & 4YO Magic Millions Classic over 1400m.

That race arrives in Launceston on Sunday and the gelded son of Super Easy goes into the $65,000 event over 1400m with winning form.

Easy Road returned to form last start with a resounding victory in a benchmark 84 handicap over 1400m in Launceston last Wednesday week, proving he races best on the Ladbrokes Racing Centre Mowbray circuit and he was back to a more suitable distance.

Bookmakers have been burned a few times by Easy Road, so they took no chances by opening him up at $1.95.

His price was eased to $2 but that was quickly snapped up, so it wouldn't surprise if he starts shorter closer to race start time.

Argyle Beach, from the John Blacker yard, showed a glimpse of form last start when second to Shampz Again in Hobart, beaten a neck in a benchmark 66 event over 1600m, so he must be respected.

Bill Ryan's pair of Red Letter Lady ($3) and Take The Sit ($8.50) warrant respect and Gee Gees Darl has good enough form to suggest she can figure at odds.
