2021 WATC DERBY – RACE ANALYSIS AND TIPS
Strong pace from Western Empire and Outback Jack matching motors with Temptacion close at hand. Great race! Looks four key hopes - the top two boys against a couple of the top fillies. WESTERN EMPIRE (1) has dominated all the lead up races to this and scored as a short priced favourite last time. Set for this, has Pike and is the one to beat again. OUTBACK JACK (2) went forward and battled on strongly last time, making the favourite work for the win. Should give a sight again today.
TEMPTACION (8) placed in the Oaks and did cover ground but never shirked the task. Should race on the speed and can figure in the finish. The Oaks winner LUNAR IMPACT (6) broke her maiden last time at 50/1 but has got better the further she's gone. No shock to see her measure up again. BRAVE ANGEL (7) was fourth in the Oaks and looks an each way chance here at odds.
