RACE 1 - 1:20PM Xmas Party at the Races - Sat 18 Dec Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate (Heat 2 Viddora Series) (1200 METRES)

SABAKU was placed twice in Victoria back in May and got back before making ground at her local debut behind So Say Angel. She draws well and gets her chance. STARSONGARI is another who has trialled OK running 2nd behind Speak No Eagle and ran OK first-up behind She's Estelle at Gawler. ARCTIC FLORA gives the impression she can win a maiden making ground behind Spelman at Balaklava last time, but she is having her 27th crack at winning race. BRED TO BOSS trialled OK before he was well beaten on debut but shapes as an improver. TRUE AIM had specking on debut at a price.
SELECTIONS: 5. SABAKU, 9. Starsongari, 1. Arctic Flora

RACE 2 - 1:55PM TAB Gawler Carnival of Cups - Oct 15-24 Colts, Geldings & Entires Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

The Stokes stable can strike again here with PEDIRKA who looks to have ability winning trials at Strathalbyn and Balaklava before running 2nd behind Jimmy's Edge in a Morphettville trial when he covered ground and was strong late. THE PARTISAN has been solid recently and deserves to break through. He was runner-up behind both Turfitt and De Thorn before disappointing after racing on speed behind Manhatten Times last start. He draws a middle gate and should be fighting out the finish. SOLSYSTEM is a Balaklava trial winner in the astute hands of Jake Stephens and wears the blinkers for the first time. GLANLEAM is another on debut for John Hyam and must be kept safe. AMMO AMOR has been around the mark.
SELECTIONS: 11. PEDIRKA, 9. The Partisan, 7. Solsystem

RACE 3 - 2:30PM G&J Civil Maiden Plate (1500 METRES)

CASTLE OF KINGS should be winning here. He has been well fancied and beaten at both runs this time in but in harder grade behind Manhatten Times and Hardtoexplain at Murray Bridge and Morphettville. He draws a sticky gate but looks the horse to beat. RED ROOF could be the danger, if there is one after a good effort behind American Trouble when specked a price last time. JUSTEDEE was placed at Port Augusta two runs back and can run into a place.
SELECTIONS: 1. CASTLE OF KINGS, 11. Red Roof, 4. Justedee

RACE 4 - 3:05PM Coopers Brewery Class Three Handicap (2100 METRES)

SMILING ASSASSIN broke through to win at Balaklava two starts back and backed that up with a game effort in town when 2nd behind Exalted Ambition. A repeat would make him very hard to beat here. DON'T WAIVER has solid appeal on his Murray Bridge effort two starts back behind Under Oath. He gets in well here with the claim from a good barrier. AUSSIE SOJOURN is sure to right in the finish here she was a good winner over Plaisir last time and looks well placed in a race like this. ROYAL BOWER has been around the mark and has been the one punters have come for at double figure odds, stablemate SEMINOLES is also going along OK and worth some thought.
SELECTIONS: 3. SMILING ASSASSIN, 1. Don't Waiver, 4. Aussie Sojourn

RACE 5 - 3:40PM Holdfast Insurance 0-62 Handicap (1100 METRES)

Good betting race with plenty of chances. INDIAN GAZELLE looks a promising horse. She hasn't raced since winning here beating Daily Spirit in January and was good behind the smart Outlaws Revenge on debut. SO SAY ANGEL was solid in betting when she came from back in the field to beat Ultimate Addiction last time. SITTING BULL is racing consistently and was good running 4th behind Rusty Halo at Murray Bridge last time. LOVE MAGIC was well fancied and got the money first-up from a break. He draws a sticky gate but has claims. SIR JOHNSON has a handy record and must be considered here on his home deck. CAPTAIN SOLO is a watch on debut for Shayne Cahill. HI SMOKEY is fitter here. SAND CAT looks over the odds.
SELECTIONS: 5. INDIAN GAZELLE, 8. So Say Angel, 7. Sitting Bull

RACE 6 - 4:15PM Ausbia Electrical Benchmark 54 Handicap (Heat of NJT Series) (1200 METRES)

Another open race on paper. ENLIST was runner-up behind Casino Seventeen at Balaklava back in February and ran through the line well when resuming running 3rd behind Bon Pegasus. He draws wide but has solid each-way appeal. GHETTO was a Bordertown winner five starts back and must be given some thought. DEEVINE is first-up here, has won here previously and has Todd Pannell in the saddle. ZOUSTORM was a Balaklava winner two starts back and then only beaten 2.2 lengths behind Scarlet River at Murray Bridge last week. BEEOKAY was runner-up behind Chevite here last time out and has trialled since behind Taunting. BRUTAL POWER ran well at odds behind Scarlet Rover last time out.
SELECTIONS: 3. ENLIST, 4. Ghetto, 1. Deevine

RACE 7 - 4:50PM Gawler Cup Twilight Friday Oct 22 Benchmark 56 Handicap (1500 METRES)

Tricky end to the day. KEYSOR recorded back-to-back win before he was beaten 3.7 lengths behind Turfitt in town. That's solid form for a race like this. TABLE OF WISDOM has won four of seven starts here and has won a Murray Bridge trial ahead of his return. He ran in the Adelaide Cup back in March and can run a big race fresh here with the claim. SUPER LOOKA is a horse with some upside and was a Murray Bridge maiden winner four starts back and ran OK behind Morty here last time. AFTER YOU won at Naracoorte back in May and strips fitter here. CHONCAPE ran well at big odds behind Melody Man at Morphettville last time out, GETOUTTHEWAY has been well found since markets opened. DETENTORE is racing well, BEAU'S MY BOY is fitter here and has a good record around Gawler.
SELECTIONS: 4. KEYSOR, 5. Table Of Wisdom, 9. Super Looka
