Race 1 BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1750m):

We start a Showcase meeting over a restricted middle distance. Underrated mare 7. Miandelle has been tracking all prep to win a second race ahead of her 10th start, and finds an ideal longer journey here on an 11 day back-up. Compounded late in a better race at Mudgee two runs back before ridden a little quieter and hitting the line here. Can go back from the wider draw and be strong late.

Dangers: Tough four-year-old 4. All Words has put two wins together finishing well from midfield, and draws to get a soft run on the fence. A 4kg claimer booked off-sets the punishing weight for 1. Careering Away who is another one best when ridden from off the speed, and draws to get cover. Include in exotics local five-year-old 5. Forever Jude; and at bigger odds 9. Dauvenay fourth-up.

How to play it: Miandelle each way and trifecta 1,4,7/1,4,5,7,9/1,4,5,7,9
Odds and Evens: Odds

Race 2 2YO COLTS & GELDINGS HCP (1000m):

The juvenile boys lock horns over the sprint trip, and like yet another smart-looking Capitalist colt 4. Economics who debuts behind two impressive trials for a leading metropolitan stable. Bred to fly on both sides being out of an Anabaa mare.

Dangers: Debutant Headwater colt 7. Mantaro sailed away to win a country trial by more than six lengths, and draws well. Zoustar colt 1. Spinosaurus was run down after leading on debut as a heavily backed favourite, and stays at the distance; while keep watch on long-priced and Dissident-sired 3. Disoney who debuts from the inside with blinkers on. Include in exotics Toronado colt 12. Toronomica resuming for only his second start.

How to play it: Economics to win
Odds and Evens: Split

Race 3 2YO FILLIES HCP (1000m):

Now the girls' edition, and it's a tricky dash with many chances. Like the value of Astern-sired 4. Ahoy who debuts in blinkers for a leading Randwick stable. Was given plenty of education at the trials last spring before trialling again 10 days ago in strong fashion when only collared late by one way out in much better ground. Will need to get across from the wide draw, but looks ready to go.

Dangers: Improving Deep Field filly 1. Deep Expectation has beaten all bar the winner in her last two either side of a five week break. Has tactical speed, and the drop back 100m in trip might prove the key. Emerging 2. Dolly Jayne put paid to an average country maiden field first-up, and draws to get a nice trail, although bumping into a few slicker ones here. Coming out of that same trial as the top selection making up late ground, Snowden-trained 6. Exoshuffle is a market watch at bigger odds; while include in trifectas and first fours debutants 8. Laroupe who won the second of two trials; and 13. Tubthumper who wears blinkers.

How to play it: Ahoy each way and first four 1,4/1,2,4,6,8,13/1,2,4,6,8,13/1,2,4,6,8,13
Odds and Evens: Split

Race 4 BENCHMARK 74 HCP (1400m):

Some good quality in this headed by flying provincial filly 5. Audette who shoots for a perfect four from four. Flew home from the back to easily win on debut this track seven weeks ago, and has gone right on with it at the provincials and here again sitting closer to the speed. Smart and versatile, she is city-bound and the one to beat.

Dangers: Improving metro filly 7. Zelady Luck is the clear threat after four runs in her first real prep, and dropping back from much tougher Group 3 company where she was well beaten. Was a dominant BM 66 winner three starts back. Tough provincial mare 2. Tawfiq Lass hit the line into the placings twice before a fair effort in the deeper Midway C'ship Final; while 6. Oh Golly Gosh peaks third-up.

How to play it: Audette to win
Odds and Evens: Odds

Race 5 MAIDEN HCP (1280m):

Toughest race of the day for the maidens, with many hopes. Like Swiss Ace three-year-old 4. Cloudland on debut for the leading provincial yard. Has won both lead-up trials up to 1000m in soft ground, and the "Raging Bull" stays in the saddle for the real thing.

Dangers: Lightly raced Epaulette three-year-old 3. Tillman returned with a solid placing on the South Coast as a well-fancied favorite, and will appreciate a bit more ground. Got plenty of time for 7. Uncaged resuming behind two progressive trials, but will need to slot in from the outside barrier. Expecting improvement second-up from provincial filly 11. Power Conductor who stuck on okay after leading first-up at Tamworth; while 8. Island Lass can overcome a wide draw and run into a place fourth-up.

How to play it: Cloudland to win
Odds and Evens: Split

Race 6 BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1280m):

Progressive Deep Field three-year-old 2. Deep Snow should have nearly won third-up hitting the line late after rider lost his spot between the 500m and 250m in a handy Cl2 at Tamworth. Previously carried 60kg to claim his maiden here, and can bounce straight back over a touch further.

Dangers: Promising three-year-old 4. Test The Waters resumes for a second prep. Proven on rain-affected ground, and trialled nicely at this track. Gap to the rest headed by 8. Lago Di Braies who powered home to win her maiden at second start; while 5. False Step returns off two improving trials for her first run since early spring.

How to play it: Deep Snow to win
Odds and Evens: Evens

Race 7 LONE PINE CHARGE (1000m):

Competitive and feature sprint shapes well for high class and lightly raced four-year-old 13. Ceasefire resuming on the limit weight. Given time since a strong trial five weeks back, and is unbeaten from two fresh runs.

Dangers: Plenty of them headed by three-year-old 10. Blow Dart who also resumes off two progressive trials, and has won both previous starts first-up. Big watch on talented 8. Toto who can improve sharply second-up; while both 9. Patino Ruby back in grade off a seven week freshen-up; and 12. I'm Not Slew first up behind a dominant recent trial win; can both figure in the finish.

How to play it: Ceasefire to win
Odds and Evens: Split

Race 8 BENCHMARK 58 HCP (1500m):

Another wide open contest to finish, although improving provincial filly 7. Exolay presents over the odds fourth-up. Has found the line well from well off speed all three runs this prep, and can hit a peak with senior jockey taking over.

Dangers: Keep safe at good odds 9. Ella Te Ama stepping up from a tough heavy track maiden win; while 5. Rosie Impact6. Decadent Tale and 8. Miss Laquetta all have each-way claims at good odds.

How to play it: Exolay each way
Odds and Evens: Odds

BEST BETS:
