Winning Trainer: Robert & Luke Price (Luke Speaking)

Thoughts on Count De Rupee: "I've got a big rap on this horse. It's been well said that we went to the Newmarket first up and the TJ Smith second up. We were just having a terrible program at home with the wet tracks and getting the horses worked how we needed to get them worked. He went to the Warwick Farm trials before that race last start, he switched on and we knew the horse was still going well. After the run the other day, when he ran second, he'd just done extremely well. We were going to go to the Doomben 10,000 but we thought 'let's get the horse's confidence up' and let's get him to Queensland and win a race with him and it's gone to plan. He is a serious racehorse, he's a very serious racehorse. I haven't ridden many horses as good as this. I think we've still got a lot more to come."

Future plans: "I think it could be just the (Doomben) 10,000 now in two weeks but nothing's locked in."

Thoughts on Jamaea: "I thought the filly (Jamaea) just had the flashing light on who ran third. She was just outstanding back on a firm track, a long time between runs. She's got a Stradbroke that she could be aimed at as well. We will sit down, take them home to their own environment for the next week or 10 days and we'll work out the rest of the winter with them."

Thoughts on winning jockey Brock Ryan: "It's good to get a result and it was a great ride by Brock (Ryan). He never panicked when the speed went on either, he waited and then we had Rothfire coming back in our face. He was able to get off and we were probably in the place where the winners hadn't been coming all day but like I said before, he's a very, very good horse."

On sticking with the gelding: "Every start I just wonder if I'm going to stay on him. It's good to get the result today and be on him still."

Why wouldn't you be on him?: "I've only just come out of my apprenticeship, I'm still a young senior and there's a lot better riders out there than me. You never know."

This is the horse you need: "That's 100 percent. He's an amazing horse and I've had so much luck on him, success. I was feeling sick when I was four pairs back (on) the fence mid-race, and then it felt like I was going to spew at the furlong when I had no run. Lucky I had a pretty good horse with a good turn of foot underneath me to get the job done. "

On the track: "It's a beautiful big track. It's my first time riding here and I couldn't ask for better conditions. (It's) Great for the club to keep the track going beautifully, the track's amazing and it's great to come up here and get a result."
